New Recruit Check List.
Welcome to the New Republic Navy!

By Colt

This checklist will help you become familiar with the NRN and its procedures.

1. Choose a name to use as your NRN name. Make it 8 characters or less. This is because when you create a new 'Zone
Name', you will include '_NRN_R_' before your name. Since the Zone allows only 15 characters for your name, only 8 are
left after the NRN prefix. For ease, use the same name in all the programs that the NRN uses (ie, Battlestats, mIRC, ICQ).

2. Thoroughly read through the NRN rules. NRN Rules

3. If you have not officially joined the NRN, join through the NRN site. JOIN NRN

4. Sign up at Battlestats.com. - Follow this tutorial. Use the follow examples as a guide through the quick process. Click them to enlarge.

5. After signup, you won't be assigned to a squad right away. Be patient. The wheels are in motion.

6. Change your zone name to _NRN_R_yourname. Remember to include a '_' before the 'NRN....'. You can open a new passport in order to have a new zone name and account, or you can change an old zone name here.

7. Setup the mIRC program. - Follow this tutorial.

8. Setup the ICQ program. - Follow this tutorial.

9. Consult the list of NRN instuctors. When you see these instuctors on ICQ or at the Zone, ask then if they are available for
training. Keep in mind that sometimes the answer may be 'no'. But they try to train as much as they can.

10 Become intimately familiar with the NRN Academy page at the NRN site. Note the 'Curriculum' and the 'Bacta Tank'. Begin
studying the documents in the 'Bacta Tank'.

11. Try to fly 10 hours per week.

12. There are two main tournaments that the NRN participates in. The first is Squad Wars (SW). This is an internal war
between the 13 squads of the NRN. The other tournamant is the Week Of War (WoW). *note: You must be a graduate
from the NRN academy in order to participate in WoW's.

13. NRN meetings are every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the mIRC chat program. All members are asked to attend at
least 3 meetings per month. If you are going to miss a meeting, contact your Squad Commanding Officer (CO).

14. Frequently visit the message boards at the NRN site. Valuable information is often presented there. Also, try to stay active
on your squad's message board.
