Rank Insignia Naval Forces Name Other Division Name Rank Description Academy Recruit Academy Recruit This member is brand new and has just enlisted and made their NRN name. Academy Cadet Academy Cadet By now the member has completed at least one substantial training session with an Academy Instructor, well on their way toward proficiency in their game. Senior Academy Cadet Senior Academy Cadet This member is still working towards graduation, but has shown great participation therefore earning a promotion in rank. Flight Cadet Cadet Though equivalent in rank to an Academy Cadet, this member has completed his/her basic training in the appropriate divisional academy. Senior Flight Cadet Senior Cadet This member has both completed his/her basic training in the appropriate divisional academy and been awarded a promotion to the third rank level. Chief Flight Cadet Chief Cadet The final "cadet" rank, this member is off to a great start in the Mighty New Republic Navy! Pilot 3rd Class Private This rank and the ones that follow represent further loyal participation, all the while working on game skills and developing camaraderie with the NRN community. "Soldiers" are full members of the NRN in every way, and will be called on and trusted in various situations. Pilot 2nd Class Private 1st Class A higher non-officer rank. Pilot 1st Class Corporal The highest non-officer Rank. Flight Officer Sergeant The eight rank grade, this and the following Non-commisioned Officer ranks represent significant experience with and dedication to the Mighty NRN. Senior Flight Officer Staff Sergeant The second non-commisioned officer rank. Chief Flight Officer Sergeant 1st Class The tenth rank grade; though the member does not have an officer’s commission, he or she is equivalent in grade to an Ensign/2nd Lieu. Senior Chief Flight Officer Master Sergeant The eleventh rank grade; though the member does not have an officer’s commission, he or she is equivalent in grade to an Lieutenant JG/1st Lieu. Master Chief Flight Officer Sergeant Major This is the final non-commisioned officer rank and is a very great honor to the worthy member holding it. Equivalent in grade to an Lieutenant/Captain. Ensign Second Lieutenant The first commissioned officer rank, this member has been entrusted by the fleet with a certain command position, perhaps a Flight/Troop Group Leader, or position in DIA or other such division. Lieutenant JG First Lieutenant The next officer rank, typically with similar duties to the Ensign/2nd Lieu. Lieutenant Captain Mid-level officer rank, perhaps Executive Officer of a squad, F/T Group Leader or some other command position. Lieutenant Commander Major At the thirteenth rank grade, this well-proven officer occupies a command position such as Squad XO or F/T Group Leader. Commander Lieutenant Colonel This high-ranking officer holds great responsibility to the NRN and is likely a Squad Commanding Officer, XO, or other command position. Captain Colonel This high-ranking leader in the NRN is likely the CO of a Squad or commanding a special division. General Senior Colonel The highest-ranking non-"Admiralty" officer, a member of this rank may hold any of the above command positions and is a very trusted and proven leader. Commodore Brigadier General The first and most numerous of the "Admiralty" with up to 11 members, the Commodores/Brigadier Generals take part in the vast behind-the-scenes work required to keep an organization like the New Republic Navy up and running. They probably also hold a position in a Wing Command. Rear Admiral Major General With up to 9 members, the Rear Admirals/Major Generals, like the the 1 star rankers, fly desks as well as X-wings or P-51's and are typically Wing Commanding Officers or hold another such high command position. Vice Admiral Lieutenant General The (up to 7) Vice Admirals/Lieutenant Generals are close advisers to the Fleet Admiral and share much of the responsibility of commanding the Mighty New Republic Navy. Admiral General The (up to 5) Admirals/Generals hold one of the top positions in the New Republic Navy; their desk is second in size and bulkiness only to the Fleet Admiral/General of the Army. Fleet Admiral General of the Army The Fleet Admiral/General of the Army is the Commanding Officer of the New Republic Navy, fills the shoes of the NRN's many able past commanders, and is responsible for leading us into our bright future!
